Small Business Owners Report Social Media Drives Sales

The results from a recent Roundpeg survey of 243 small business owners and managers indicates social media works for lead generation. Almost 70 percent of business owners indicated they generate leads from social media.

But more than half the respondents also indicated social media was connected to at least six percent of their sales.

Some 63 percent of respondents indicated they use social media for more than 30 minutes a day.

Roundpeg says it typically recommends business owners spend 30 minutes to 60 minutes daily to make connections, update content and create a consistent, visible presence on social networks.

Companies investing less than 30 minutes a day are most likely to respond that social media is responsible for less than five percent of their total sales. In contrast business owners who are spending one to two hours are seeing a greater portion of their sales connected to their social media activity. You can download the white paper here.
