Verizon Wireless Launches Mobile Video Service

Verizon Wireless has launched Verizon Video, a new version of its video-on-demand application for mobile phones. Verizon Video offers Verizon Wireless customers access to current TV episodes as well as live streaming of major sporting and news events.

Verizon Video offers access to more than 250 current, full-episode TV shows from all the major broadcast networks, including ABC, NBC, CBS and MTV, and popular cable channels such as Comedy Central, Animal Planet, CNBC, Disney Channel, ESPN and many others. Programs from Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and PBS Kids.

The service works on a variety of Verizon Wireless feature and smart phones, but will not work using Wi-Fi. That is going to pose an issue for users who want to watch lots of video.
