Digitally Fatigued? Watch for Shifting Social Media Choices

One in every four-and-a-half minutes spent on the Web is spent on a social networking site or blog, the New York Times reports. And last year the average visitor spent 66 percent more time on such sites than in 2009. That ought to raise questions. Just how much discretionary time do people have? How much time are people willing to spend on social media compared to other entertainment pursuits?

One might argue there already are signs some people are having to choose between social networking sites, because they just don't have time to spend lots of time at each site. A logical question is whether Google+ is going to displace some, or substantial portions, of Facebook interaction.  Are you digitally fatigued?

Also, with the growth of LinkedIn usage, there simply are more logical places for people to hang out. That seems to be leading some social media users to retrench. Read more here.
