Will Motorola Boost Android Growth?

Prior to the Google announcement of its acquisition of Motorola, researchers at the Yankee Group polled consumers about their current smart phone devices and operating systems, as well as user expectations about what they might be using in two years.

As you might expect, iPhone was the device and operating system smart phone users most preferred in about two years. Android also shows growth, but less robustly than the iPhone. The Motorola deal might have some positive impact on Android expectations, at least in the U.S. market.
